Garden Room- Term 3.2 - End of Term Summary- How have we Changed? 25/26

This half term, our Big Question has been "How Have We Changed?"

We began by encouraging the children to think about how they have changed since they were babies and since they first started coming to nursery. We invited parents to send in baby photographs, which allowed the children to look at themselves as babies and compare how they look now. We talked about the things they can do today that they couldn't do as babies, as well as the things they no longer do now that they are growing up.

The children enjoyed creating drawings of themselves as babies and as they are now, helping them to recognise and celebrate how much they have grown and developed.

We also explored the fascinating life cycle of a butterfly! The children had the exciting opportunity to observe real caterpillars and watch as they changed and developed into beautiful butterflies. This hands-on experience helped them understand the different stages of the butterfly life cycle. The children can now explain how caterpillars change throughout their life cycle and confidently describe how they transform into beautiful butterflies.

We are incredibly proud of how confidently the children can now talk about their own development and achievements. They are able to describe the things they can do now that they couldn't do when they were babies, as well as the things they have grown out of. They are also beginning to talk about their achievements in a positive and confident way, celebrating their own progress.
