Duckling Hatching Experience

Over the past few weeks, the nursery children have enjoyed a special experience observing duck eggs as they developed and hatched. The children showed great excitement and curiosity as they watched the changes each day, learning about the life cycle and how living things grow. When the ducklings began to hatch, the children were able to see this process firsthand, which sparked lots of discussion, questions, and new vocabulary. They demonstrated care and empathy as they gently observed and talked about how to look after the ducklings. This experience supported their understanding of the natural world, encouraged communication and language development, and provided meaningful opportunities for shared learning and awe.
