SS. Term 1.2 Why are there so many leaves on the ground ?

Our Big question this term is  Why are there so many leaves on the ground?
To develop the children’s understanding about Autumn we will read and looked through Autumn books and also go on a autumn walk around the local area.

During our walk within the local area and within forest school we will hopefully see the changes in the environment tyo support the childrens understanding of the season Autumn.

The children will have the opportunity to create leaf print pictures, make leaf soup and other leaf meads during their exploration in the mud kitchen

The children will focus on size and shape of leaves to further their knowledge mathematically
and participate in learning new songs associated with autumn during singing time and music and movement.

To develop their creative side the children within sunshine room will have the opportunity to make autumn pictures using paint and vegetables and well as exploring colours and how they can change when they are mixed to celebrate Bonfire night.

A special visitor will come to share their experience of how they celebrate Diwali and read the story of Rama, Sita and the Demon King.
