SS.3.2 How have we changed?

This term our big question is...... 'How have we changed?'

The children will enjoy taking part in lots of activities that will support them to identify the changes in themselves including looking at their baby pictures and more recent pictures of themselves.

This half term our focus stories will be Dear Zoo and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The children will participate in a variety of different sensory activities which will include exploring the life cycle of the caterpillar with jelly frog spawn and having fun with the coco cornflour elephant sanctuary as part of our learning linked to the Dear Zoo story.  We will develop our creative skills by participating in lots of activities, some that will feature animal patterns and prints and we will be using large boxes as part of our role play zoo experience. The children will also have the opportunity to develop their early literacy skills by creating their own letters to send to the zoo.

A very special visitor will come to the sunshine room to show off with some great tricks ..... Sully the dog will come to see the children.  He will help us to learn about change as we look at how he has changed since he was a puppy.

The children will continue to develop in physical skills by enjoying dance, music and movement and we will be building caterpillar towers as part of our work to develop mathematical skills.  The children will be encouraged to try a variety of different food during snack time, many of which are featured in the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

We will finish off the term with an end of year party and enjoy lots of dancing as well as having some delicious party food, including the butterfuly cakes the children will be baking!
