Barefoot Safari
Lesson: EYFS
Class: Garden Room Forest School Year: 2024 - 2025
Last week we took part in our Barefoot Safari in the Forest.
Emma explained to the children that they must only take our shoes off for the Barefoot Safari and that she had checked that the trail was safe. Emma walked along the trail to show the children and then she cleaned my feet and put my shoes back on.
Then it was time for the children to have a turn!
The chiildren walked to the start, took off their shoes and then took it in turns to walk along the trail, thinking carefully about how each element felt...
The children talked about how it felt and the sounds it made.
‘It's nice’
‘The grass is tickley’
‘Cracking carrot’
‘It's cold’
‘Like cracking’
When they had finished the children cleaned their feet and put their shoes and socks back on.
The children engaged well and enjoyed our Barefoot Safari!!
