Cinco De Mayo! 2021

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Rainbow Room Year: 2020 - 2021

Today we celebrated Cinco De Mayo ( the fifth of May) which is a celebration of Mexican culture. It was originally to commemorate the Mexican armys unlikely victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla- however, it has now become a more general celebration of Mexican culture.

The children in Rainbow Room fully embraced this celebration; creating their own Mexico flags and bunting using paint, rollers, sponges and ribbon. We spent some time listening to Mexican inspired music and made traditional vegetable quesadillas during the sensory cooking session.... then we got to taste them at snack time! delicious!
