Clay Autumn Leaves - November 2025

What an exciting day we had with Debs the Potter! She showed us how to craft beautiful autumn leaves from clay.

First, we carefully rolled out our clay before selecting a perfect leaf template. With the template guiding us, we used special clay knives to cut out our chosen leaf shapes. It was amazing to see the clear leaf outline emerge as we gently removed the excess clay!

Next, we added intricate details by scoring the clay to create the delicate veins you see on real leaves. To add even more texture, we rolled tiny balls and long lengths of clay, attaching them securely with slip.

Finally, we brought our leaves to life with a splash of autumn colour. Debs has now taken our creations to fire them in her kiln, and we can't wait to see their stunning transformation when she brings them back!
