Clay Faces with Debs the Potter!- Autumn - 2023/24

Today Debs the potter visited us at nursery, she also brought her friend Gaynor to help us too!

We all had the opportunity to make our faces out of clay.

First we used mirrors to look at our faces and pointed our all of our features. We used oval templates and special knives to cut out the shape for our face and then we rolled little pieces of clay to make our eyes, nose and mouth before using a pencil to make marks for our hair.

Debs has taken them back to the studio to fire them. We can’t wait to see how they turn out!

Today we learnt cutting skills, rolling skills and mark-making too!
