January 2022 - World Religion Day

On Sunday 14th January it was World Religion Day. This year to celebrate this at nursery we learned about the religion of Buddism.

Buddhism began in India over 2,500 years ago. Buddhists follow the teachings of a man called Siddhattha Gotama. He became known as the Buddha, which means 'enlightened'.  Buddhists meditate as a way to clear the mind of worries and fears and try to live a good life by following the Budda's teachings.

We were very lucky as we had a visit from a Buddhist Monk at nursery.
