"Eid" in Arabic means "feast"- Eid al- Fitr which means "Festival to break the fast" is at the end of the holy month of Ramadan in which followers of Islam (Muslim) fast for a whole month.
It is a religious Holiday celebrated around the world by the Muslim community and begins when the first new moon is sighted each year. The children in Sunshine room have enjoyed learning about Eid this week. They have investigated a variety of traditional party clothing from the celebration, watched animated videos and songs to learn more about Ramadan and Eid, engaged in special sensory food provocations using foods eaten during this special time such as honey, dates, apricots and figs and also made beautiful Henna inspired artwork prints!
Eid Muburak everyone!
