2021 Autumn term 1: focus story- Owl Babies

One of the children's favourite focus stories this half term was 'Owl Babies'. The children have enjoyed sharing the story in different ways, listening to the story being read by an adult; listening to the audio story, watching read aloud stories; retelling the story with props and acting parts of the story ourselves.

We talked about the characters and their feelings at different parts of the story. This lead to discussions about our own feelings and what makes us happy and sad. we each had our own ideas with shared with one another. We thought about the owl family and this began discussions around our families and the homes we live in. The children drew their own picrues to represent their families.

We created big owl art using collage and took our learning home, by completing some research to create a fact file for our very own nursery 'all about owls' book.
