SS:Term 2.2 What do I know about Spring. End of term

Our big question this term was "What do I know about Spring"

The children enjoyed looking through non fiction books during continuous provision and also at group time.  During this time the children were encouraged to identify Spring objects and animals. The children also enjoyed singing and learning new nursery rhymes that feature Spring animals.

We had a wonderful visit from our ducklings, where the children were able to observe them hatch and learn to swim. During their visit we discussed their features, how they had changed and the ducklings enjoyed lots of cuddles from the children.

Children in Sunshine room enjoyed spending time Robin Wood, our forest school, as we noticed lots of new flowers and plants growing.  We used some of the natural materials we found in the forest to create Spring pictures.

We also started our potato challenge, our challenge is to water the potatoes in our special sunshine buckets for 100 days !!! .... after 100 days we will dig them out and  see how much they have grown and changed. This challenge will continue into our next term and will support the children to develop their understanding about growth and the natural environment.
