Forest school Term 1.2 2023-24

This half term has been a very busy one in the forest.

We have been continuing to look at our Big Question "Why are there so many leaves on the ground?" while in the forest.

To support this we have been on Autumn hunts, looking closely at the changes in the forest, we have made leaf kebabs and looked after the birds by making bird pizzas.

The children have enjoyed looking for mini beasts and are starting to understand where they might find them and what equipment they need to look closely at them. We even found some eggs one week under a log and used the internet to find out that they were slug eggs.

We have welcomed our parents into the forest and they enjoyed exploring the forest with their children.

We have used sticks in different ways, one week we had some water in the ditch and the children decided to 'fish' in the puddle with their sticks.

The term ended with us enjoying a sensory Nativity story through the forest to learn about the first Christmas.

What a busy half term we have had!
