Chinese New Year

Class: Garden Room Year: 2020 - 2021

This week we have been exploring Chinese New Year at nursery.

Through out the week we have listened to the story of the Chinese zodiac...’The Great Race’. We have talked about what a race is and why the animals had to have a race, to decide the order of the years.

We have learnt that this year is the year of the Ox. ‘Ox’ was a new word for lots of us, so was ‘Emperor’.

On Thursday we watched videos of Chinese dragon dancing and had a Chinese banquet with noodles, prawn crackers and spring rolls. We made the spring rolls our selves by wrapping and rolling vegetables into little parcels.

Then on Friday we did some big art outside using a new technique, pendulum painting. It was lots of fun!
