Owl Babies

Class: Garden Room Year: 2022 - 2023

One of our focus stories for this half term has been Owl Babies by Martin Waddell.

The children LOVED listening to the story and listened carefully to it, after a few times reading it they were able to repeat "I want my Mummy!" when it was Bill's turn to speak.

As part of our story, we explored owls in our provison. In family groups we created collage owls using paper and collage materials along with the story and some pictures of different types of owls. We have also talked about the owl family and our own families drawing pictures to represent these.

In the story the baby owls are sad that their mummy has left them and we have talked about how sometimes we are sad and sometimes we are happy and drawn pictures of what makes us happy and sad.
